Job Description

Position summary

  • This role supports artwork production.   Each tactical element of artwork will require a full examination by this role.  This person consults with the production specialist creating the adaptation to ensure that the claims and references are accurate and supported within each piece that is created.  

Job duties

  • * Proofreads and edits all advertising, promotional, and non-promotional communication materials to ensure accuracy of text, layout, organization and references; compliance with AMA or AP guidelines; and overall sense, consistency, and clarity
  • *Provides original references for medical manuscripts as needed; annotates final PDFs for Legal/Medical/Promotional Compliance review; and provides a final Reference List formatted per client direction
  • *Ensures all corporate, product branding, Legal, and Pharmaceutical Promotion Compliance guidelines are followed to the letter
  • *Interacts with Project Managers to resolve issues, negotiate revisions, and verify information whenever necessary
  • *Ensures all deadlines are met
  • Participates as a member of the review team (along with production teams) and reviews and approves all promotional projects
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to manage timelines for regulatory submissions
  • Ensure consistency within documents and across clinical programs by managing messages and maintaining document standards

Job qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English/Writing/Communications.  A combination of work experience and education can be substituted.
  • Minimum 3 years professional copyediting and 5 years proofreading experience, preferably in the medical/pharmaceutical field
  • Ability to accurately review complex materials including multimedia graphics, texts, and web sites with excellent attention to detail
  • Operates effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; highly organized and multitasks effectively
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively and work well with others
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat required; knowledge of medical/pharmaceutical terminology and federal regulations governing pharmaceutical advertising preferred
  • Ad agency experience preferred
  • Pharma experience preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus
